any help appreciated....
im from new zealand with a 97' JDM ITR, i no spoon is possibly the best Honda brand after mugen, but we can dispute that later...
im wanting 2 no whether or not 2 buy a set of spoon N1 Adj coilovers. a friend has had a very good set of them thrown in his directions and hes keen to put them on my ITR.
Does any know the spring rates these come with???
How well they drive on the street???
and any rating between them and a set of TEIN FLEX's with the EDFC?? i no the TEIN set up is more expensive but im having a lil trouble making up my mind...

Spoon sell different spring rates to suit your needs, as far as i can remember they sell springs rated from 8kg up to 22kg (in multiples of 2kg, so 8, 10 ,12 etc etc) If you can get them at a good price then go for it, i have a set and find them excellent, i'm using 12kg rear and 14kg front and theyre perfect for street driving with the shock screwed down to 2 front and 1 rear, but everyone has there own preference as to what spring rates and hardness settings they use and what suits me or someone else might not necessarily suit you.

wow, the first black 96 ITR i've seen.
anyway, for the coilovers, try to search in the FAQ section. it's one of the first threads in the ITR forum. there is a lot of information regarding which setup to choose.

i would definitely recommend them in fact i wish i could run into another set but their impossible to find i def got lucky the first time around. i didnt have the N1 version but the Spoon showa dampers and i got zeal 10k and 8k springs, the ride was awesome and i was dumped at the highest setting. i had them on my EG back in the day but had everything ITR suspension related. you can check it out here on my write up:

They are N1's!!! Spoon make two type of shock, one height and damping adjustable and the other fixed height/damping, your are height adjustable so theyre N1's...there are no in betweens...Not that i know of anyway and if there are theyre not on either the JDM Spoon site or the SpoonEurope site

Tein Flex's more expensive than the Spoon N1 coilovers?? Not a chance in hell.
As well the Spoon N1 (Showa) Coilovers are steps above the Tein Flex in quality and possibilities, many steps above.

thanks, its pretty standard at the moment. the spoon n1s im being offered are only $1000 about 90% new. where as the the tein flexes ive been quoted were $6000 not fitted he said thatd b another $1000. real rip off!!. in new zealand we need someone to open up shop and sell the best quality products for not millions of dollars!!
i was thinking about getting some 17" TE37's sent over from australia bcos u can get them for $3000 there where as here youd' be looking at about $9000.
but i also dont like the spring rates on the flexs, i think 8kg to 6kg sum1 said. itd be nice bling with the flex and EDFC but i want it to go hard on the corner not drools on the side of the road!!!!

Errr... Where do you get all your prices from?
And you really don't want 17s, Aucklands road would crush your TE37s in no time.
Nice car, looks exactly like mine except that mine's 5 stud and I am rolling on 15 inch white Civic Type R rims.
You have probably seen pics of my car on other NZ forums anyways.

Grin-t does urs have the B20b engine in it??? and i think it used to be owned by a either allmotorgroup.com member or nzhondas member by the name of SKUNK2??
i think i no which one. that use to b HELLLL modded i was droolin and droolin all over it at the auckland autosalon last year. mean circuit car when it was set up, f thats the same one.
advanced imports gave me the price of TEINS and MAG and TURBO gave me the prices for the wheels. there such scammers. but a friend of mine has the spoons. im pretty keen on gettin them but gotta sort the dosh first

I love my Spoon N1's
though, I'm starting to find that the 14kg F 12kg R is getting a tad soft now ... just the initial motion .... Thinking of upgrading to a 16k spring at the F and moving the 14k to the rear....
:D
Street driven, i dont find them harsh at all.... a little bumpy at times but not harsh :D

haha that's jdm land for you.... they should just learn to use sway bars.
the stiffer you go, the better your street tyres have to be ...
if you're gonna run R compounds most of the time, then you'll need stiffer

I GOT THE SPOON N1's!!! There awesome and well worth the weight in gold. i had them at the highest setting 2 start off with and the back wheel is about 1cm off the tire. so far running damper on 5 all round. i love the stiffness. hopefully this weekend i'll have time 2 wind them down about another 20mm all rnd. i'll try and get some pix 2!
ps handling is awesome even with the standrd 15inch ITR mags

hahaha you'll be aching for the 16kg springs soon ....
especially if you like setting 5 :D the stroke feels shorter.
If you can afford to, lower it a bit more - the initial soft feel will shorten to.

why dont you guys compare spoon n1's to teins n1's. i kno that the tein flex's are good for all different kinds of conditions. how much are tein n1's anyway? i kno that flexs are around 1500-1750 for itrs.
