my 2 door 1990 accord has a non vtec dohc 2.2 liter engine.

I think it's a F22 longblock similar to the ones I've seen like that on ebay.. I think the engine is stock.. why isn't it listed on the FAQ under 4th gen?

Also.. I've seen many threads with people commenting on the f20, f22, H22 engines etc.. I'm trying to learn more. Can someone point me to a list that describes each engine and it's specs.. and what cars they are from, or just list them for me? and also the differences between a/b b1 etc. If it's sohc, dohc, 2.0 l, 2.2..

1990 and DOHC? Are you sure its a dohc?

 

well I may be wrong I suppose... I know it's 16 valve.. I'll double check when I can.

ahh I googled the f22a I suppose it is sohc.. guess I learned something new. (and saw it in the FAQ now..)

is the h22 a prelude engine? can someone help me compare and contrast the different types of engines mentioned here? f20, f22, h22

guess that shows how much I know..

a DOHC engine will have a "valley" in the middle of the valve cover down the length of the valve cover...theres where the spark plugs go in, and the two ridges are where the cams are underneath....SOHC has a sloping shape, highest point is the cam, lower is where the spark plugs go in
