Default Oil pouring out on Swap, help?

So I swap in a gsr into my hatch tried to start it up, it cranks up start ran it for like 20 sec and I was happy, left it alone. The next day I was under the car to hook up the exhaust cuz I ran it with just the header and I notice a somewhat meduim puddle of oil under the car. I tried to start it up again ran it for like 20-30 sec and turned it off went to check and there oil pouring from underneath the car I was pissed. took a look to see if it was comming from filter/oil cooler area and it wasnt, it also not from the pressure sensor.. I thought it was the PCV valve leaking but its not there was oil on top of it coming from the thermostat area of the block... it looked like 1/2-1 quart of the oil came out on the ground...

do u guys think its the headgasket?
the motor was not run since it was rebuilt I'm not sure if they reused the hg

Are you leaking any oil from around the distributor?

It doesnt look like it can leak that much oil in that short amount of time cuz it only leaks when the car is running theres like oil along the whole side of that corner where the thermostat is at..

what vtec pump? u mean the solenoid? most of the oil is comming from the back side of the block but the same side as solenoid, the solenoid is towards the front...

check eitther way. Make sure your dizzy is all the way in.

Also, do you notice it leaking from the valve cover?

because i think if it was the headgasket you would be smoking. (someone correct me)

there doesnt seem to be any coolant comming out, it doesnt seem to be smoking but I only tried to run it a couple of times for about 10-20 sec after I added more oil...

check oil pan area and the area between the block and the tranny....could be rear main seal or oil pan gasket or front main seal.

I shall. I beat the **** out of a sunfire and blew headgasket in 4 places. It just leaked outwardly, and not into any of the cylinders. Wouldn't cause anything as bad as what he is describing though.

edit: I think...

if the GSR head that is on my block right now was used in a LSVtec setup and the oil hole that is usually blocked for lsvtec is left plugged, and then put on my gsr block could the oil pressure cause my head gasket to leak like that???
that is what I am thinking cuz that oil hole is right it the same corner that is covered in oil....

Clean the area and look at it while the car is running. Could be anything!

Cam seals good and in place? If they're outta place they'll make a weird cackling noise. Here's 10 or so min worth of driving with a bad cam seal (these are POST clean up ):
