Default Weight reduction

Any ideas how can I reduce the weight on a JDM Integra Type R DC2 but without cutting and changing to fiber glass or carbon fiber parts. It weights 2,300 pounds and the weight that it's permitted is 2,100 pounds. It is for road racing use.

We have 6 JDM DC2 Type R + 3 USDM DC2 Type R, we have them for road racing, we start to import them 3 years ago. We also have Toyota Starlet GT Turbos/Glanzas, Evos, Nissan Pulsar GTIRs, all JDM.

My personal favorite method of weight reduction involves looping the heater hoses back to each other and completely removing the entire climate control assembly from behind the dash.

Yes, a good way to remove weight is to remove the a/c and climate heater, but we don't want to get rid of this comfort, because in our race track the climate is very hot. We have removed passenger and rear seats, the floor mat, we wanted to removed the inside undercoating but the jdm already don't have it, spare tire, jack and tools, doesn't have bompers reinforcement. And don't know where else to remove weight because is still above 2,100 pounds that is permitted in the category that we are competing.

Did you already cut the power steering out? Maybe replace the steering rack with a non-PS rack (base Civics, etc.)

It's on my to-do list...

I can't imagine a race car with A/C, no matter how hot it is. Rip that out...

Yeah, seriously. Hell, I don't even have climate control in my daily driver.

-Kendall, who is very cold when driving in the wintertime.

There we go, that makes more sense!

Winter in NC, cry me a river...

That's either awesome or crazy.. windshield fog/frost would **** me off to no end if I removed the HVAC.

I've got the MAD SKILLZ YO!!!

No really, I removed my dash...and everything behind it...for weight reduction purposes.

Keep an old T-shirt in the passenger seat to wipe off the windshield when it gets foggy.

Back to the original topic. Throw on a stupid lightweight flywheel, a billet aluminum crank pulley that facilitates an alternator belt that'll save a good ten to fifteen pounds.

Why would you replace the rack with a non-PS rack? Just loop the stock rack.

I was under the impression that the manual rack weighs less than the power rack. Of course the power rack has a better steering ratio which might be worth the weight on the race track.

Any body know how much weight saving results from removing the entire climate control assembly from behind the dash? Thanks.
