For the past little while when I went to start my car it would just click but after a couple trys it would start. Today when I went to start it I got nothing not even a click. Anybody have any suggestions on what has happened? Time for a new starter?

I'd check the condition of the battery, cables and connections first. Sounds like bad starter contacts though.

Ok you can do a lot to see what is going on. First I would check spark, the conditions of your battery cables and the condition of your battery. Try those and diagnose your problem.

Check the battery voltage and see what your getting, clean all connections and if it still don't work. Take something heavy and have some turn the key, and hit the starter. Usually the solenoid sticks and this will unstick it, but in the long run you will need a new starter.
