Default cat converter removal

could ne possibly give me instructions on how i could take off my cat converter on my 91 accord ex to free up some horses. another question, is there an o2 sensor in the cat on this old of a car? if so what would i have to do with it once the cat is gone, make a hole and put it in the straight pipe that replaces the cat? thanks.

you can take it to any reputable muffler shop and they will be happy to fab you up a test pipe. however, they cannot legally install it, so you will have to do that yourself.

you are OBD-I so you do not have an O2 sensor on your cat.

any gains seen from removing your cat will be minimal as compared to the amount of pollution you will cause, both by air pollutants and noise pollution. please do not do this mod, its really relatively pointless on an otherwise stock or mildly modded engine

u can find a a hi flow cat online for 45 dollars, get a impact wrench take off the 6 screws (3 in froint :connected to header:, and 3 in back connected to exhaust pipe) only do this mod if u have a header and cat back exhaust, other wise it will be pointless and cause u to fail emisions. it would make no since to blow emisions over 4-5 hp. oh by the way u only have one 02 sensor(u lucky ###) lol. i cant stand this check engine light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you should just get a high flow cat, they dont cost much. if u punch out ur cat it sounds like CRAP coming out of a coffee can. if u want to free up some horses toss in a header, intake and exhaust
