Default OIL FILTER PROBLEM

aight fellas you ready for this...i have a jdm swapped b16 in my 93 civic. and this is the first oil change i have done on the swap. oil drained fine but the oil filter is a different story. i could nit get it off i tried everything. then i stabbed it with a screwdriver and eureka....it turned off. well after battleing this for an hour or so i went to put the new one in to find out that not only did i take the filter off but i took what the filter was attached to...yup i pulled the threads out of the block and to this day this **** is still in the filter. i want to know how do i go by getting a new one or if anyone here has one lying around i'll dish out 20 bucks to the first who can hook me up... ....

I'd say cut the filter off the threads.

If your B16 is equipped with a factory oil cooler, then what the filter pulled out was a large bolt with threads on both ends. One end is where the filter screws onto, and the other end of course screws into the block. This "bolt" is also what keeps the factory oil cooler strapped to the block. If u dont have a oil cooler, then i dont know what to tell u, lol. If u do have the oil cooler, then i believe 94-95 GSR's and type R's came with them. Make a trip to your local honda or acura parts dept.

So number 19 is for cars without the cooler, and 18 is for the ones with?

Why not clamp your old oil filter in a vice, and just put a ratchet on the nut that threads that into the block ? It will come out of the filter.

Cuz the nut part is only on one side of the threaded piece: the side facing the filter.

this is exactly as he describes but the catch is i am overseas and there isn't a single person over here that understands engine swaps, more or less how i did it. (a forklift and two 5000lb straps) i am the first in Spain to do a swap. so if anyone has one i got a 20 for you as soon as you hit me up with an email at dwhar08@yahoo.com
