How much OIL does a H22 hold?
How much should a H22 hold in OIL? My engine builders whom have re-built this freakin engine 3 times are now sayign to me that they put in the suggested 5.1 quarts of oil and the engine oil level hasn't even passed the lower level on the dip-stick. So how much oil does urs hold? They are saying that my engine is burning it because of the overload and pushin it through my pcv system. They just told me over the phone that they re-routed my pcv system AROUND my valve cover. YES! A loop around my valve cover!! what is going on here!?
no hammer. I am getting lawyer. This is the 3rd re-build.. Yes third.. Over a year ago i did this build-up and i planned on being in the 12's this time last year and all i do now is freaking check my oil everytime i get gas. 1 quart every tank. cool right?
The Helm says 5.1, the factory says 5.1, thus it should be 5.1. Are you certain that you have the correct dipstick-and that it is properly seated in the block?
Your other issue sounds like someone does not know how to build an engine-sorry but such is what it is. If you don't seat the rings, valve stems/guides and seals properly-you WILL blow oil out of the motor one way or another. Also keep in mind that Honda clearances from the factory are generally dead-on and should not be tampered with.

actually if you read the helms it says 6.2 after an overhaul, that is why when they are assembling the motor and putting 5.1 they are still a whole quart shy.

Hmm I never tried to top it off... Maybe about 3 gallons? But I put 5.1 quarts in after an oil change. or 6.2 quarts after a rebuild.

ok so i just got back and what they said happened is.. For some reason after the oil change he put the 5.1 in and it was low on the dip-stick. But what they did was shortened my dip stick to be reading the correct level due to the point that they think that possibly we were overloading the oil amount and or the new oil pump assembly had a factor in the dipstick level... Anouther thing that they did was add anouther PCV valve in the hose due to the reason that oil was in the line with the oem set-up. They then drove the car 285 miles today to test it and they ended up burnin 1/2 a quart. better then my usual 1 full quart. For some reason my oil is gettin extremly dark like right away, so they took and sample and are sending it out to get tested. They think that there is a fuel problem, but my set-up is stock 97 5th gen fuel system. i am having the code thrown vtec malfunction(6500 fuel cut) but that prob has nothing to do with the point of my oil burning. I'm just ganan drive the car for now and see when the results come back in liek a week and half.
dude these guys are retarted, i would get the car out of there, how much is all this costing you?
2 things.
1# the should not have moidified the dipstick, if it was the stock on it should be fine.
#2 your honda comes factory with only once pcv valve for a reason. tell them to stop throwing bandaids at your car and fix it the right way.
can you please list your setup and what they have done in the past, whats the full motor build and what they have supposedly done each time. do these guys have a history with hondas or what?
