Anybody know what the market price is for an EX motor, tranny, ecu, ext?? My girl is looking at buying a 94 CX with a bad head gasket and if we could get a 1.6 swap cheap enought then we might go ahead and get it...

And where would you suggest looking to find an engine at that price? I called a couple places locally that I know and they all quoted me about 1500 for a 93 swap, which I dont think is worth it.

i have a 2000 SOHC VTEC motor...and it has 22,000 miles on it...i am interested in swapping my motor..i am looking for 1500. The only reason that i am asking so much for this motor is because of the fact that it is still new.

putting that motor in a 5g will just give you headaches
my friend might buy my old d16, he is going to put it in a golf cart (lol i cant wait) but if he dosent ill let you know

 

You should have no problem find a 1.6 SOHC. I have a 1.6 SOHC CX motor that I'd just about pay you to come get. Think how many have been swapped out in favor of a B series motor.

mother ****** sohc engines aint ****. they can be bad ***. I'll run a stock b16 powered crx or 5 gen hatch any day.

Yeah, well most of us who have done B-series swaps have our old SOHC engines. If you have a SOHC CX engine that's just the 70 hp version. Mine is a '92 and has the 1.5 though.

Albino Dragon isn't looking for that. He wants the SOHC VTEC swap commonly found in the '92-'95 EX, Si, and Del Sols.

 

in my old hatch i bought a '98 1.6 SOHC for $600 with a DC header and test pipe..
people are offing those engines for next to nothing....good luck in finding one
