Ive been searching for the last 20 min and I cant find any threads that details the install of any gauges or a wideband w/ display. Was hoping someone could give me some insight on install techniques and general things about mechanical/electrical gauges

I plan on running

Boost
Oil Pressure
Water Temp
Wideband w/ Display

Hoping someone could give me some nice links theyve gatherred from around the net on installing or choosing to go with mech/elec

My Innovate was cake. Power and ground for the unit, screw in the o2 sensor, attach the other end to the unit, and calibrate it.

 

What are you looking for? Are you looking for places to mount the gauges? How to route the wiring? Where to tap for power?

I recently just finished my gauge setup so the process is still fresh in my head.

 

I thought gauge installs were more involved then that. Ive already got my wideband but not infront of me, seemed like it had a few wires on it

But like boost and oil pressure, for boost do you only have to run 1 vacuum hose from my vacuum manifold and thats it?

Oil pressure.. how?

Water temps.. how?

If the boost guage is mechanical you just run a vacuum source to the back of it, and maybe power and ground for the lights.

For oil pressure you will probably tap off the oil pressure sensor and run it to a sending unit which then sends an electrical signal to your guage, then power/ground for lights.

I believe it is Greddy that supplies a large tap for you radiator hose which reads the temp and sends an electrical signal to your guage, then power/ground for lights.

Well then...... where does the oil pressure line connect to? Ive already got a tee for my oil feed line but Greddy make some sort of adapter that goes before the oil filter and attaches to the block and I run my gauge from that?

It would probably make more sense if I actually had the gauges infront of me

Water temps I think is pretty important as Ill be running higher compression + boost in a hot *** climate with a stock EG 1/2 rad n fan

Yes this is called a Sandwhich adapter. I use a GE one and it works great. But you coulnd't go wrong going with any of the other manuf.

If you have a electrical gauge, it will come with some type of sensor. This sensor will generally be 1/8 NPT which screws into the sandwhich adapter or TEE. It then has a wires which runs to your gauge.

Just buy whatever gauge you want. Most use a 1/8 NPT. Just make sure what your are getting before you buy it. And most manuf. have a website which shows how to install.
