Default Exhause Gas Temp Question

I just got guages installed. Oil Pressure, Exhaust Gas Temp, and Boost. It wasn't until after the install was complete, that I realized I didn't know what temp the exhause gas should be.

I've got the JRSC race version, AEM CAI, DC Sports shorty header, Random Tech High Flow Cat and Borla catback. The pyrometer is located just after the header, actually in the pipe leading to the cat. After the car has reached normal operating conditions the EGT will run just under 1000 degrees F at idle, and go up to 1300 or a little more as I get on the throttle. Is this about normal? It should be because the car is running right as far as I can tell.
