Default Stripped Hub Assembly???

Man was tonight a long night...... A friend and I were taping a video for a school project and it was all based on street racing. So we decided to tape he and I in a school parking lot just on take off so he could get a good burnout on film. So I rev it up to maybe 3-4 grand and dump the clutch. I take off doing a nice burnout and then I hear a pop and my tach is tagged at 8 grand!!!! I immediately got off the gas and put in second and let out the clutch and nothing happens. Im just coasting. I pop the hood and notice my passenger side halfshaft is just spinning. I had my friend put the car in reverse and let out the clutch and you can hear a grinding noise coming from that area. I believe that my hub is stripped out. I have Fidanza halfshafts on there which are made of a hardened chromoly steel on the teeth so i figured that it is way harder than the steel in the hub splines. All this Bull Sh*t let me to believe that I may have stripped the splines on the hub assembly. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else??? Any help you could give me would be great, as my car is still sitting in a parking lot at some school. Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to make sure u got the whole story, plus I just needed to vent a little bit. Thanks again for your help!!

Default Re: Stripped Hub Assembly??? (CivicSiDriver02)

So let me get this straight

The CV's are stronger/tougher than the splines?

If thats the case, that's totally shitty; defeats the purpose of having stronger CV's in the first place.

Using your footage of your car taking a **** would be a good deterrant to illegal street racing
