suspension limiting straps?
where can you buy these? are they ok to use on a street car? i mainly want them bc my springs come out of the top hat and off the spring perch if my car sqwuats too hard at auto-x
if you dont know what im talking about or if i gave the wrong name for them they are straps that go from the body somewhere to the lcas to only allow the suspension to extend to far out
thanks for any help

That isn't the item you should be looking for. Straps are made for drag racing, but they deffienantly arn't for street use. They stretch over time/use, and you will neet to be adjusting them. What you do need are called "helper springs" and some spring couplers to join them together. These are basically zero rate springs, designed to keep everything in place when the suspension is in full droop. Last I heard Ground Control sells them for 200 complete.
Here are some pictures...(I think these are actually tender springs, but helpers look the similar)

I'm not really familiar with these. Does anyone have pics installed, or can explain what this does?

At full droop your spring are probably uncompressed completely and will come off the perch and rattle. A helper spring b/t the spring and the perch keeps it planted on the perch but is fully compressed and does not add any spring rate when the car is on the ground.

I have them on my car, daily driven. When you have the alighnment done "right", they work fine. no binding, but they do limit your suspension travel...

No, this is what he was talking about. They are litterally "Straps" like what you would strap your car to a trailer with...

hey thanks for the help guys..... i was unaware that they were used for drag racing i thought they were just made for the reasons mentioned above and could be used for street to....... but anyways i know what helper springs are but do they make some that would fit on a standard style shock/spring combo? i guess they would go b/t the top hat and the spring? i guess im just so used to seeing them on coilovers that i didnt even realize they could be used on a standard shock and spring
any other companies that make helpers that would work on shock and spring setups?
thanks again for all the help

wait a sec, so youre saying with your regular coil springs the springs are coming out of the top hat?? what springs are these? they really shouldnt be coming out if they arent race springs like shown above.
ive got a kg/mm DR damper kit which is just some kg/mm s21 race springs with matched kg/mm shortened struts (about an inch shorter than stock) and yes they come out of the hats by about an inch
maybe ill just drill some little holes in the sides of the top hat and zip-tie the springs to the top hat so they wont come out but will instead just raise up off the shock and fall back into place...... how bout that?

You can use coiled wire loom/wrap. Radioshack has it. All you need to do is wrap the bottom coil with it. It will then fit really tight on the spring perch. I have used this method on ground controls and tein's. It also keeps them from making noise.
