D16Z6 Bogging and not reving above 3500 RPM, plz help!
This is my problem plain and simple:
My buddy is a great mechanic and has worked on numerous Honda engines...he owns his own garage etc.
My problem started when a terminal attached to my power wire for my sound system shorted on the firewall. It blew the following sensors...
-TPS Sensor
-Map Sensor
-Coolant Temp Sensor
-Crank Sensor
-Cam Sensor
It also blew one injector and fried a spark plug. My fuel rail also had metal shavings in it.
Anyway my buddy replaced everything and had everything running A1.
He took it out and it ran like a beast
but then when it got back it started bogging and not going beyond 3500 RPM again.
The injector and TPS sensor blew again...we don't know what's wrong. The ECU is putting out codes 7 and 16. He tried everything but the TPS sensor and the injector keep blowing.
If you guys have any ideas please let me know!

you must still have a short some where. if it kept blown the tps, and injectors like you said. not doubting you mechanic, but how did he test the injectors and tps and said it was bad.
I know it must be a short of some sort...He used an ohmeter I think...I'll find out though. Where is the short most likely to be or could it be completely random? I'm guessing it will be random which sucks...
It will be in the wiring for the injectors/TPS, hopefully they are on the same circuit/harness so you can hopefully narrow it down to a single harness/plug.
Is there any possibility that it could be anything else? I want to make sure I narrow everything down as much as possible...
just to let u know tho, its not a injector problem thats keeping it past 3500, ur ecu is in "Suzuki" mode

Suzuki mode? Could you clarify that a bit...I have an idea of what you mean but I'm unsure.... and I know the ECU has something to do with it...I'm guessing it's a safe guard of some sort?
safe mode, or lock down mode.
its where ur ecu trys to keep u from messin up ur car by sensing theres a serious system problem

it is like this when the ecu senses no signal from the tps the it does go into limp mode and since there is no signal coming from the tps the ecu only allows the engine to rev so high. as far as the code 16 your tech should be checking fuel pressure, the main relay and of couse all the wiring to make sure that none of it is shorted to ground. The grond wires are of utmost importance esp the one at the t-stat housing. Your problem with the power wire shorting out has probably done more damage than what you think. Be ready to just junk the wiring and start with a good one. oh yeah the ecu is also suspect to being fried.
