first time poster and i could use a little help.

i have a 97 honda accord and this afternoon I was getting out of my car and my headlight chime came on when the door was opened even though no lights were on.

i have checked headlights, brights, parking lights, turn signals, even checked the position of the ignition after i remove the keys. also checked the dome lights. nothing seems to make a difference and i know this chiming wasnt happening before.

i'm paranoid something could drain the battery and im not aware what. does anyone have any ideas what else might be causing this?

 

Could it be the key in ignition chime? Sometimes the switch sticks.

 

if that is the case the what would be the necessary remedy?

The first thing I do is inspect the ignition switch and pick out any junk that shouldn't be in there. Then try a little wd-40 to loosen it up.

 

are they different??

i found out that the corner bulbs, door chime, and interior lights all work off of the same 7.5 fuse under the hood...of course i have at least 1 of my 4 corners bulbs burnt out now, and i go went through about 3 fuses in a week.....could that be a short or something??

OT: hows the civic projects coming??....DFH was disabeled, so no updates
