Light switch problem, wont switch off parking lights
alright so today on my way home from work i get home and notice when i go to turn off my headlights that it is a bit resistant when switching it from "parking lights" to off. it switched off the headlights normally, but the last turn to turn off the parking lights needed a bit of force to turn off.
then i go to the supermarket and same thing happens when i get to the store and turn off my lights... and then i go home and this time when i go to turn them off, i guess i "broke" the switch (im not sure how the mechanism works inside) when trying to turn them off.
so now my car is sitting outside with the parking lights on draining the battery, bout to pull the fuse if i cant find a solution. now the switch turns properly, which led me to believe i broke it. the headlights dont come on anymore either. its just stuck with the parking lights on no matter which position its in.
soo for one.. is there any way to fiddle with the switch to turn the lights off... and two.. is there anyway to salvage the switch by fixing it or am i gonna have to buy a new $115 piece at the dealership. i wont have time to go out to a junkyard and grab one.
any help would be appreciated.

From what I remember the switch is hollow with a metal bar in the middle. Maybe the problem is at the end of the switch where it meets the column. You might be able to figure something out but I have a feeling you are screwed. Sorry.

Re: (old man neri)
well the brights and turn signals still work off that switch, jsut the turning part of it is where it had a resistance problem before finally "snapping" or as you presume.. the metal bar may have slipped off/out or whatever.
thanks for your input
