Default How do i raise the clutch catch point?

Missed my 4th gear racing a couple times recently but luckly everything was okay. My clutch dropped to the floor, but I just had to pick it back up and it was fine. Thing is now my clutch is catching really low. Is there a way I could raise the clutch catch point? Maybe I need to bleed my clutch? Iono Ideas?

If your clutch stays on the floor, then something is wrong obviously. Start by bleeding your clutch and see if that helps. There may be something else wrong, such as the master or slave cylinder, or even the clutch itself, but bleeding is the starting point.

You can adjust the clutch with the little shaft that goes from the pedal to the master cylinder. You loosen the locknut and then turn the shaft to adjust it.

Awsome! And no it doesn't stay to the floor. It only happened when I missed 4th. I had to pick up and it was fine, the pressure was there it's just that it's catching lower. Anyway it's to bad I missed 4th cuz I was right with a STI when it happened! But anywho I doubt my clutch is bad, I just had it replaced about 10K miles ago. Also it still seems to catc pretty good, just a lot lower on the clutch pedal. Thanks for the help tho mang! I'll look into adjustment tomorrow.

Get on the floor and look behind the clutch pedal. You will see a shaft going into the firewall. On the near end of that shaft where it connects to the pedal assembly is the locknut. You loosen the nut and then turn the whole shaft to adjust it.

Not really, as the pedal has a set stop point due to the mounting bracket it's in. The adjustment changes the point along the pedal travel that the clutch engages/disengages.

Dude, there is no point you would ever touch an STI with intake and exhaust. EVER. 300 ft/lbs and 300 hp @ 3204 lbs. Good luck, maybe he had an STI sticker on it, or maybe he was just messing with you to see if you would **** up your car.

read my sig.....then guess again, i have went with a few STIs now and i can keep right with them through 2nd and 3rd, even pull a bit in third......

i have i/h/e and flywheel

just consider, if i had to guess im making about 215-220 flywheel hp and about 165-175 flywheel torque, based on the usual loss numbers and a comparable dyno......that comes out to around 185 whp and 150 wtq.....in a 2800 lb car...

thats 15.1 lbs/hp and 18.7 lbs/ftlb

the Sti has 300 and 300, but they have 4 wheel drive system with much more drivetrain power loss and a turbo car powerband.....i have seen a couple dynos and they look to put down about (stock) - 250 hp and 250 ftlbs....in the 3200 lb car

thats 12.8 lbs/hp and 12.8 lbs/ftlb

so the straight up max numbers advantage is not that huge.....

but if you look at the curves on the sti dyno, the torque is below 220 over the whole band other than 4000-5500, and the horse is below 215 all until 4500.....so their powerband is tiny considering the fact that they have to shift at about 6500.....

A sti will probably burn a h22 hatch. And you saying youve hung with one in a heavy *** prelude. My freind at work drives one and i was shaking after i drove it. A h22 and a turbo 2.5 liter is a big diffrence in power.

yea the sti is powerful. yea the 4 wheel drive is cool. but that **** is all boost. that car is dead until about 3500. so yea a prelude could beat it in certain situations. But for the price difference you gotta hand it to the honda. just look at the old 2.5's until they got turbos, they were poop for power.

sorry i know this is all off topic but...

my buddy has an STI, and on our way back from davis, CA, we were on the freeway doing about 95 each, side by side. I kept pushing forward and letting up the throttle, and he was doing the same. we continued to do the same until about 105 mph... i then floored it and took off infront of him about one car length (i'm still flooring it).

This is what went through my head, followed by what happened.
**In my head ** "HAHA I TOOK HIM!! HE AIN'T GOT **** ON M--"
VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oooh... I didn't know he debadged the back of his car... Hm, are those after-market tail lights?

I got SMOKED. Couldn't touch him. Can't touch him. akjdflaksjdfladsfjl
