crx starting problem....?
I have a 91 crx si and it's not starting up. The starter is cranking, but there is no spark coming through the distributor when i check.
The car work perfectly last night with no problem at all.
I've check all fuses and the fuel pump is still operating properly.
What can be the problem?

hmmm....maybe you fried your ignition coil
or less likely, your ignitor??
supposedly you're able to test those components at most auto parts stores. autozone said they could test mine before

Had the same problem once before..Try the two conection plugs that go into the top of the distributor..the connection may be corroded. Hope that helps I looked for two days before I discovered the problem
so i've check the distributor cap and ignition coil, and it seems to have a spark.
The car is still not running. Could it be the fuel pump is frozen? I hear the humming noise from the fuel pump.

If you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the "On" position, then your main relay should be fine. I'm with vtecturbo - check the cheap stuff like fuses before going out and buying parts.
Could be that the distributor bearings died. I've had it happen a couple times on various Hondas and Acuras. Before buying a new distributor, though, make sure and check everything else! They ain't cheap. Hopefully you've got a friend who's got a spare dizzy you can try on your car?

i dont know if it could be it but my was doing the same thing about a month ago. everything sounded fine the starter sounded like it was clicking over and the distirutor was getting power but it was still the starter i picked on up at napa for about $70 at it fixed the problem. this might not be your prob. but if the starter is old it wouldnt help to replace it anyway.
i recheck the the spark from the ignition coil and found out that it is weak (not sparking like usual).
All the fuses are ok and the starter is turning.
I'm running a B16a1 in my 91 CRX Si and wonder what type of ignition coil will be the same as (replace) it?
Also talk to my mechanic and he give me a similiar advice.
thnx for all ur response.

found out what ignition coil i need, but do you guys think it's the ignition coil that is the problem?
I dont want to go get one and find out that it is not the starting problem.
What is the manufacture OHMz for the ignition coil? I might test it that way to find out if it's ok.
