BBK SSI Manifold on turbo B18C1......slower???
Hello all, I am currently running a 95 gsr motor (stock internals) in my eg coupe, t3/to4e @ 8psi, emanage, custom garage kit. i put down 240hp @ wheels when i got it tuned several months ago and hit a 13.5 @ 104mph. I recently added a 3" mandrel downpipe and i could immediately tell the difference, it was much faster (had a crush bent 2.5" dp). I installed the new bbk manifold last night with a hondata intake gasket, and when I took it out for a test run it was SLOW! I could barely peel in first gear, when I usually loose traction as soon as I boost in 1st and 2nd gear.
Has anyone had a similiar problem with the jg manny? Did it throw my tune that far off that my car now feels like a 14 sec car?
I will throw my stock intake back on in a sec if I need to......
no cel, no leaks.....just slowness......any suggestions or ideas?

I had the same exact feelings when I drove my car hard for the first time ..."what the hell is this?"
If the manifold is anything like the JG, it's a part of life. Back when my GSR was on the stock IM with the T04E, it felt much much quicker, even at 10psi. Now with the JG and SC61, the lag is pretty hefty and the IM doesn't aid in spool time either, it's a top end unit made specifically for LOTS of top end power, while sacraficing mid range velocity. Retune your car on the dyno and rev it out, notice how high your power curve trails with the new IM than it did with the stocker

thanks mrgsr and vtc......I will definately get it re-tuned and maybe up the boost a bit......it was just soo much quicker with the stock im that it just seems....wrong.
I just called my tuning shop and they said that one thing I will need for proper tuning of that manny is a larger corresponding tb.......does that sound right?....on top of the 400 to tune my emanage i dont' want to drop another damn 350 on a damn tb!!
it just feels slow and I feel like I got bent over

If you don't like the power-band of the bbk/ jg style, sell it and buy a skunk 2 or a Blox. It sounds like the longer runner manifolds might be more to your liking.
E-manage? Oh dear.. sell the E-manage, take the money and buy/socket a P28 and have your tuners tune you via Uberdata. Your motor will thank you
And no, a larger TB isn't a neccesity.

Is the emanage hindering me that much? The shop in Austin seems to think highly of it......

You may not feel that a larger TB is necessary for your setup, but if you want to make power with that manifold, the stock tb is a restriction. There is no point in running a short runner mani with a stock tb, the stock tb is choking that intake.
Well, I am ordering the bbk 70mm tb to go with it, along with the hondata s200b. I found the tb for 289.00 and I may as well get the hondata instead of an e-01 like I was going to do, besides.....a friend wants to buy the emanage from me
I think with my new lsd, 3 puck exedy, and new hondata tuning I should be right back in the game! Thanks for the replies all

Stop it, stop it, stop it.... If you don't know about the system and you simply have your own recommendation, just say that.. But don't bash what you appear to have never utilized nor tried.

I think a 65mm tb will be big enough for you..
