What setup are you running with what tires? Traction bars may help. What car are you driving? I had bad wheel hop in my SOHC-T del sol. I couldn't do a burnout at the track with my AVS100s because of how bad the wheel hop would be. Broke an axel once from it. I'd suggest a harder tire or traction bars.

To solve your problem, there are a few solutions.
1. Ride the clutch a little more while disengage, I can tell you just dump the **** at redline.
2.Stiffer mounts might help also
3.Tires are a big plus, if it's at the track get some slicks, you won't bounce. If you're on the street quit being a jackass and you won't have the problem.
4.Like someone said, traction bars ++. Strut bars might help also but will be minimal
If you have good tires, it shouldn't chirp it should just engage and continue accelerating.

what about front sturts.. maybe something stonger then stock. becuz i just swapped my gsr motor in my hatch and there is too much play on the front of my car. I think that all the wheel hop will cause the struts to go out anyways..
im not sure about traction bars but if they help i will get some and im thinking of going with the tokico illuminas. unless someone suggest there are better ones, and can give me a valid reason too choose them.

Im running really stiff suspention and Azenis, and my car used to start breakDancing when i tried to launch it. The solution to the problem?.......Super stiff motor mounts! (or traction bars but thats alot of extra weight)

I got all 3 lower motor mounts for $110 shipped. My car rattles a bit, but I don't have wheel hop anymore, so it's worth it.

i have a stock d16z6 with intake and header and the clutch.....with some "douglas" performance tires....they look pretty cheap.....even in the rain today it has terrible hop when it supposed to chirp....please any more help is greatly appreciated!

No, wheel hop occurs when the engine and transmission rotate/tilt, to much in the stock engine mounts which throws off the front wheel suspension geometry and causes the wheels to "hop" and shake the living crap out of the dash and everything else in the car. Putting stiffer mounts in, like the Energy Suspension poly inserts into the lower tranny/engine torque mounts prevents the engine from shifting very much , keeping everything in proper alignment and then the tires stay on the ground.

This is alot cheaper than buying mounts, and when you get money, buy some good mounts. This should prevent most of theh hop but if there still his hop get traction bars. they should take the rest out

i have super stiff engine mounts u should hear how my car rattles. at idle its all sick shakes the **** out of my dash.. so i guess i would need something better then just polyurethane mounts cuz mines are not preventing the hop..
that is why i mentioned the stuts previously..

Most of the time it's engine mounts causing the problems but in other cases it could be related to front suspension bushings that are in bad shape or the type of suspension setup on the front of the car. Once I put poly inserts on my car my wheel hop totally stopped and I got no real noticable difference in vibration.
don't dump the clutch on the street and you won't have to worry about wheel hop.
engine mounts could do it too, they are cheap now to replace with inserts from prothane or energy suspension. they even have them at pep boys now, 39 bucks or something for all mounts.

any problems i ever had on my car with wheel hop that actually damaged something all happened at the track..
y the hell u care if someone dumps there clutch or not.. we are all aking and answering simple questions.. we not here to be bitched at about following the dam legal system or breaking our toys.

but there is no reason to dump the clutch constantly through second and third gear, thats just ******* stupid, especially without mounts.

Even if you are racing, it's just like dumping the clutch at redline in first gear. You would probably wind up with better traction when you don't shift like paul walker when he's late for work. Even if you get rid of the wheelhop, you'll still spin tires.
On topic, mounts would be the only thing I could think of to rid yourself of wheelhop. They sell stuff that goes on mounts to soften vibration, you may try to use some of that. Otherwise stiffer mounts will be a better option. You'll probably feel the engine thorough the car, but it would stop wheelhop.
