<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jeff evans for a long time ago &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">There is stage 1, 2, 3 and 5. All of the trims vary in terms of how aggressive the angles the blades are placed, and overall size of the exhaust blade. The stage 1 blade will give you the quickest spool up, but wont support give the maximum amount of power. Stage 5 is at the opposite end of the spectrum being the largest, and most aggressive. Stage 1, 2 and 3 are garret parts and the stage 5 is a turbonetics developed wheel. The angles and size of the exhaust wheel dictate how the air being forced into the housing is used by the wheel. The shallowier the angle of the blades the easier the wheel will turn. The sharper the angle, the harder the wheel (laggier stage 3 and 5) will spin, but carries more energy. More energy means more overall gases energy turned into mechanical energy.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I am too lazy to type that

What about amount of blades? I've seen some mention of 7 blades instead of 6. Does the quantity of blades also vary with stages or just manufacturers?

the stage describes the angle of the blades and the overall diameter of the wheel... higher the number the more they flow, the bigger they are and the more laggy they are.... number of blades is dependent upon what purpose the turbine was originally built for.... more blademore back pressure = quicker spool but so so top end
