Does anyone have any pic's of their Hytech install? Just wondering what you guy's have done. Did you cut your B-pipe or did you just make a small test pipe?

Here is what I did...unfortunately with the loss of photopoint I can't give you the pics.
1.) Modified brace that secures transmission to block, problem only presents itself on the Type-R as the Type-R is the only car that has a burly brace, the gsr brace is fairly small and does not have a clearance problem.

2.) I used a Carsound 54006 catalytic converter originally produced to connect the stock b-pipe to a JDM header.

3.) I had 8.5" removed from the aftermarket b-pipe that I purchased from Comptech to accommodate the increased length on the HyTech header.

Any other questions?

Yoshi...When I was at Comptech having the header installed they asked me if I wanted to use the part from the LS/GSR they had installed on their car, or if I wanted to modify to larger Type-R specific piece, I chose to modify the stock piece as even in the modified form it was still far burlier than the LS/GSR piece. Hopefully I can get some more pics of it when I'm next on the lift. If you have a chance take a look in the Helms manual and see what the description is, after reading what it says in there I thought that it might be a better idea to leave it installed in a modified form.

As it happens the piece that you have to modify to fit the HyTech header is also the piece that you have to modify to install the Moroso oil pan, just some fyi that I have.

You dont need the header brace.
You dont even really need the intake manifold support.

The block brace is what Austin is referring to.

Damn your exhaust doesn't sit all that far off the ground. Mine has a lot more ground clearance than that.

Wow your exhaust sits really low.... Thanks for the pics though. I don't want to cut my Mugen B-pipe so I think I will have to get a smaller test pipe.
