Default Tapping in to my oil for a feed line

what is the easiest and safest way to do this i found a oil filter block adapter from greddy that i think would work but i dont know where to but it cuz they dont sell it on there site

or if u feel like saving about 73 bucks you can just tee into the back of the block where the oil sensor is, right next to the oil filter.

This works but is prone to snapping or breaking in the block. The sandwich adapter is very realiable and you can run lines for ls/vtec and oil pressure gauges off of it.

There is <U>absolutely nothing wrong</U> with tapping into the pressure sensor port. I wouldn't hang a sender or a gang of T's off of it though. If you go this route, just make sure you use the right adapter (bspt to npt). I ran mine to a distribution block which houses an electric oil pressure sender, the stock sender and my turbo oil feed line.

All can be bought from stan (flamenco-t) or tuner toys for cheap. Both are great to deal with.

When you use a distrobution block that is on the firewall like you then yes it is ok. But if you tee more than one thing off the back of the block that is when you get in trouble. I guess I should have been more clear in my 1st post.

Thanks for the referrals gentlemen.

Here is an image of the fitting we offer. It is CAD plated steel, not brass. The only sending unit you should install on our fitting, is the stock sensor, in the indicated position. Any aftermarket sending units must use a remote line/firewall kit.

Actually I have my electronic autometer sending unit plugged into the tunertoys fitting as well. It's not THAT much weight. And like Craig said, the fitting is made from steel so I don't think it'll be snapping off. ::knock on wood::

Do you mean a distrobution block on the firewall or just a fitting on the back of the block that has more than one port???

The problem with teeing off the back of the block is the most of the fittings people use are soft brass which break off easily in the back of the block.

TunerToys and Earl both offer great solutions to the problem.

ppl tap into the oil sensor on teh back of the block for the feed.

you can also get that oil filter adaptor that your are talking about from "ls/vtec" kits. They use the same adaptor to feed the head with oil.

Some of you are making it too complicated If you want to run a bunch of stuff off of the oil pressure port, run it to a distribution block.

You could either use the tunertoys adapter or any ole bspt to npt adapter.

Ex1: You want to run a line to oil feed and use stock pressure sensor, Use the tunertoys fitting

Ex2: You want to run more than one line (aftermarket sensor, vtec oil supply), run a line from the block to the distribution block. If you already had the tunertoys fitting, you could just run the side hole to a distribution block. I think Stan sells it for around $25 (good deal)

The only thing I would avoid is running an electric sender right off the back of the block. I've never seen it break off, but you definitely increase the chance of causing some problems due to increased vibration. Sure it'll probably work, but why take the risk when the proper solution is only $25.

In addition to the correct BSPT ports front and rear (male and female), our fitting has two 1/8NPT Ports, one on each side. No need to string two together. Our's is a great solution if you want to continue running the stock sensor, near the original location. We also offer a firewall kit with our adapter, that runs a short braided line to a tee that can be attached to the firewall. The whole deal including our fitting is about $40 plus shipping.

I would have mentioned all of that before, but I didn't want to appear as a Thread-Jacker.
