Default Brake Pads

I have a 2002 Accord SE 4cyl, and am planning on replacing the brake pads myself. I have read the posts here, and have a manual for repair.

Do I have to apply anything to the brake pads during installation, such as a paste or liquid? Or can I just pop them in and go?

Also, are Duralast brakes from Autozone ok? The guy said they were only 18.00 a pair, and have a lifetime warranty?
Thanks

You don't really need anti-squeak.... Is'nt there a metallic shim in place????

i slapped some $24 pads on my 95lx about 2k miles ago, just put the shim on them and they work fine...... you should be fine if you put them on properly

lifetime warranty, lol. when i bought my shitty brake pads the guy at checker auto zone says to me "they have a lifetime warranty except for on wear". as if in 20K miles i was going to come in and say the brake pads were starting to wear away. wonder if anyones ever been that stupid?

Actually Raybestos used to accept pads under warranty for wear if you kept your reciept. Until about 2 years ago they were still doing it. I put a set of Raybestos on my car, they may cost a little more about $25-$30 and work great and resist fading fairly well.

So, thanks for answering all of my questions,
but here is another...

Do lifetime brakes do any damage to your rotors over time. ALso, if my steering wheel is vibrating when I hit the brakes do I need to turn my rotors?

Thanks

a) yes they'll damage your rotors if you go metal-to-metal! so don't keep them the rest of your or your car's life!

b) rotate your rotors anyways, not sure if that'll fix the steering wheel, though.

What the **** you talking about.... Keeping rotors on for the life of the whole car??!?!?!?!

If your steering wheel shakes when applying the brakes, your rotors are warped and need to be machined.
