Vibration at idle in "D" with brake applied ('88 S)
A few things actually probably relating to one problem:
1) If the car is cold (e.g. just started up), it clunks when put into drive from any other gear. Once driving it shifts fine, and once warmed up the clunking seems to go away when shifting to and from drive.
2) At idle in drive with the brake applied, the car sometimes vibrates really hard and rattles some stuff in the interior. If I touch the gas a tiny bit the vibration goes away, but when the idle drops back down to 800 RPMs or so it vibrates some more.
3) At idle in drive, the car wants to lunge forward when your foot is off the gas. It rolls harder in drive at idle than any automatic I've driven even though the idle sits steady at 800 RPMs.
The tranny fluid is fresh and filled sufficiently. Any ideas?
