Default Gauge cluster "area"---NOISE!

I have a 93 Integra...

When I am moving, I hear this noise coming form the gauge cluster area. It almost sound like something ratteling or two things touching as they turn.

I am clueless-- The only thing I can think of is the speedo cable either needs to be replaced or greased.

Is it possible that a speedo cable go bad?
Is it possible that a speedo cable make a noise?

ANy help or suggestions are greatly appreicated.

TIA

check your trip meter. Twice mine didn't rest all the way and it just keeps clicking because it won't turn the trip meter.

yes...a speedo cable can go bad and it does make noise most of the time when this happens...it will also make your mph's start jumping around or just go down to zero all the time....

No... My tripometer turns.

Because I only put 10 In gas every time, and I know that I am out of gas at about 117miles.

Is that what you are talking about?

Thanks

Keith

holy monkey crap! I thought I was doing bad at 200 miles per tank!

I have had bad speedo cables, it's not too bad to fix, you just have to take a lot of crap off to get to it [I have not done this on the integra so far, though].

NO... It takes me about 20 or more to fill up.

I can get about 225 on a full tank.
