my hood latch has been a pain in the *** for sometime, and now its getting worse....ive already power washed it a few times, and regreased stuff...though i havent removed the mechanism from the car, ive done it all with it still attached....basically, it wont catch when closing the hood, no matter how much or how little effort you put into it....in addition, it seems as though theres extra slack in the cable, as the release is REALLY loose once the hood is open.....im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and any easy, if any solutions, short of new latch and running new cable (not sure how hard that would be)

hood pins diffently arent my style.....

 

i have this problem but worse, and when i open the hood, i have to manually push the piece back so it will lock. the body shop i go to said that it would have to get a new latch because once it stops working, you will have to cut a hole in the hood to get it off.

 

this has recently started happening to me, it opens fine, but it just wont close, even if you lay it on the latch and try to push down to close it, it wont lock, i have to drop it from several different heights around 10 times to have it finally close

 

this has happened to me too... u gotta replace the cable and that should be it..

 

what does that intale, and how hard is it?
