Anyone have suggestions as to how to get the hood to pop open like its supposed to? As of now, I have to have someone lift the lever and then I lift the hood up manually. Not sure how the latch system works for the hood. Maybe needs adjustment, or a new latch? Thanks in advance!

At least part of the upward force is the bump stops. Is the hood loose when closed, if so, adjust the stops. The latch does just that, latch and release.

Anybody know where there is some detailed instructions of re-running a hood release cable?

I did not search for it, but, there were some threads of rerouting the cable to avoid people being able to release easily from under the car.

When looking at the hood and latch, it seems that the latch holds it down and it pops up from the pressure of rubber hood seal #9, the side cushion #13, and the hood cushion or bump stop #11.
