I could feel a difference in both sound and power with a test pipe. I had a slight bump in torque down low with stock, but with the pipe i have a bigger than slight bump at the high end. however it will eventually make your exhaust raspier, faster than with a stock cat.
high end
a lot louder, more low end with stocker
eventually a raspy exhaust

Also consider your location before purchasing a test pipe. Using a test pipe, in the place of a cat, will more than likely not allow you to pass smog.

In my opinion you should get a high flow cat, i have a carsound and i enjoy it much more than my old test pipe. It sounds better and the exaust doesn't stink.

I have a test pipe and it helped my engine out alot. My engine felt like it was choking when the cat was in place. When in installed the testpipe i felt a gain and the cars throttle respones increased. Great mod if you ask me... its cheap to. I have it on a Skunk2 Mega power and let me tell you when i'm at WOT the car screams like crazy!

test pipes arent really for naturally aspirated engines.. there needs to be some back pressure. test pipe all the way for forced induction though
