Default test pipe on a GSR?

Is a test pipe worth the risk of putting it on?
Have any of you guys noticed an improvement in you 1/4 mile times because of test pipes?
I already have cat-back exhaust and header so I'm wondering if I wouldn't end up loosing power if I put a test pipe on.
thanks for any help

You wont loose power. A cat will restrict air flow. Take that **** off and pay someone for emissions/smogs.

You want better flow throughout your exhaust. What you should be concerned about is the actual diameter of the exhaust piping.

Test pipe be careful though, on my last DC2 i burned up an o2 sensor because i had a high-flo cat.. it started idling funny and stuff. a test pipe just takes place of a cat so you can change it before smog with no problems.. or you can get the test pipe that looks like a cat but is straight thru.. cheat the cops during an inspection.. good luck.. oh btw your car might smoke more out the tailpipe

i have a resonated test pipe now. top end incresed alot after swapping out my stock one. but i dont want to pollute, so i will be investing into a high flow cat soon. i would go that route instead of putting on a test pipe. results are about the same

I used to have a high flow cat. It crapped out after 7 months. I decided to go straight pipe after that....feels great.

My cat was clogged when I got my car so I gutted it, which I'm sure is causing a slow down in exhaust flow. Also my car sounds like a tractor from 2k-3k. I'm very fed up with the sound. So I too am considering a test pipe. Will this releave hollow sound? How about the volume.....how much did it increase?

Hmmm...mine doesn't.

Straight pipe, 2.5'' mandrel piping, straight thru muffler.
