Default Type S tranny.... How to tell?

Ok im going to be looking at a tranny tonight and its suppose to be a typseS LSD tranny. How can i tell IF in fact it is an actual type S other than the little code? I really dont want to get screwed on this deal.......

BTW is there any way to tell if it has LSD and if its stock?

Are you talking about the type S-spec tranny? with LSD? Or the type S tranny meant for ATTS.

If you can see straight through the tranny where the axles go through,
then it's LSD.

If i CAN see through it or CANT?

I am talking about the typeS with LSD. I own a civic with a h22 in it so im not up on all the prelude stuff, so im pretty sure thats what its called.....

If you can see through it then it has lsd.

Basically if it's an LSD you won't see a spindle/bar going across the center. Instead you'll be able to see right through it.

apparently its a 90-93 acord tranny. i saw a little bar running throught the shaft area so i think this was total bullshit deal.....

it would be uber rare to find a type S LSD tranny. Would really be worth its weight in gold. If its to good to be true, it usally is

LSD is only in jap ... unless it was swapped

the type-s tranny is NOT lsd it is ATTS.

correct...the Type S has ATTS diff attached to the block and has a different trans than the SIR S spec that has the LSD trans. And you can see straight threw, no visible shaft on BOTH trans so you have to go by the codes or know the slight differences between the ATTS/LSD set ups
