Default B20 Vtec in a CRX

Sometime this week I will be picking up a B20 vtec and dropping it into my 1990 crx si. I will be pulling the B20 out of my friends 1990 integra and then dropping it into my crx. How difficult is this swap? How much extra wiring do i need? I believe i could use his axles how about engine mounts and shift linkage?

I was quoted by a local shop that he would do this swap for $600 total. I was hoping i could save some money and do it with some friends

thanks Jason

You'll need a B Series EF mount kit and linkage. Axles you can reuse from the Integra. Wiring won't be too bad since you have an Si but there will be a little more if you do an OBD1 conversion (highly recommended). You'll need to reuse the Si harness and add the additional wiring.

HASport and HCP are the only mounts most people would consider. HASport are all solid billet and slightly more expensive but are definitely worth it IMO. HCP are also very good, just don't buy any of the knock-offs because there are tons of these (Totem, Enjo, etc.). Make sure and get the linkage from the same company you buy your mounts from.

Really the swap would be no different than any other B series VTEC motor. Mounting it, wiring it up and all that is the same. Just search around here on H-T and read up on the OBD1 conversion.
