Injen CAI power gain
I have a 97 DX with an AEM CAI. I didn't dyno my car before installing the intake and I didn't do so afterwards. My friend has a 97 LX coupe with an Injen CAI. He told me the AEM CAI only gives a 5-7 hp gain and the Injen gives a 10-15hp gain. Does anyone have dyno numbers to prove that the Injen CAI does indeed give our cars more power than the AEM counterpart?

Tell your friend he's an idiot.
Both of your cars are extremely slow any way you cut it.
Both give you 5 hp if you're lucky.

Maybe my friend is wrong but why should I believe you? Only 5 hp? He told me he had dyno numbers to prove his point. I'm just waiting to see it. What do you have? Oh and yes I agree accords are slow, but I'm not racing.

I have the power of logic on my side. Trust me. An Intake DOES NOT add 10-15 hp. Your "friend" is on the pipe.
The fact that you're even asking this question leads one to believe that you are not that knowledgeable on the engine components as a whole so it's up to you who you want to believe. Your "friend" or someone know actually knows what they are talking about because they've been there done that and moved on. (In other words, it's a WELL KNOWN fact)

For 10-15 whp you'd need to add header and cat-back to the mix.</TD></TR></TABLE>
that's titanium exhaust, equare length header, vafc, FPR tuned with bored TB
It takes a sh_t load of bolt on to gain hp(NA) on low compression engine
Oh yeah, wack your friend in the face for me yeah.

I've heard intakes improve gas mileage, I believe that's the most functional aspect of the part... As for 10-15hp gains, that is ridiculous and anyone that is gullible enough to believe that doesn't need to be working a car.
Swap an EX engine into your cars... that MIGHT add 15hp.
