To overcome pressure drops for add-on's such as large oil coolers/turbo's/etc.

To much pressure = trouble.

Well, on a stock motor you will probably lose power with increased oil pressure.

On a modified motor where the bearing clearances are looser than stock, you'll benefit from the extra pressure.

Too much pressure will result in power loss all around.

What's the stock tolerance for oil pressure? How much is too low, how much is too high?

Curious, as I'm too lazy to look in my hemls~

I think its 50 PSI @ 3000 RPMs and youre good.

Also another good rule of thumb Ive heard is 10 PSI per 1000 RPMs is good.

Smaller oil filter will cut down on the drop in pressure

but wouldn't the smaller filter be more detrimental w/ less of an ability to filter out unwanted particles?

There's a good possibility that it does... and there's a good possibility that it increases oil pressure 5-10psi all around.

Now, SHHHHHHH!!

The rsx oil filter does not fit, too small. It is the size of a motorcycle filter.

Unless you have tried it, and it did not fit on your car.. don't say it doesn't fit.

Because it does.
