FRUSTRATING OIL PRESSURE
I have a D15b7 rebuilt it and no oil pressure. i have a new pump and if i pull out the oil pressure unit and crank over the motor it will pour oil out of the block but when i put the pressure unit in it gets nothing and the end of the pressure unit is dry. I don't understand why it won't build with the unit in!!!!!!!!!!!! any kinda info would rock and be greatly appreciated.

Re: FRUSTRATING OIL PRESSURE
Did you overdue it with the RTV and clog the oil pickup or something. Try checking in and around your oil pickup tube, thats always a good place to start if you know the pump is functional

Re: FRUSTRATING OIL PRESSURE
For years I have kept a cheap aftermarket oil pressure gauge in the toolbox for stuff like this. They're less than $20 at an auto parts store, and they use a little tube that reads pressure directly. You can install it in place of the OE electric sending unit, and verify there's pressure before startup.
