Default cam timing

i have s2s2 cam gears and need TO know what timing marks have to face eachother and what marks have to face up.i thought it was the small marks but the motor wiLL not kick over

same thing happened to me- turns out i had the two sensors on the throttlebody mixed up. they r the same plug heh... try it who knows.

so do i have the marks right or na and also check this, when im cranking its avting like the timing is off like not Firing like it should. good spark is coming from the coil when diSConnected from the cap and the car cranks fine but when i hook it back up to the cap the car has a hrad time kicking over (rah rah rah dah rah rah rah dah )rah= crankin dah= is like a dead spot it has lol

haha yeah-- just try switching the two sensors on the tb. maybe u plugged em in backwards. mine did the SAME thing. the two little tick marks have to face eatchother. (the two tick marks that are actually on the "teeth" of the cam sprocket... when took off the Tbelt u made sure everything was TDC right?

yes i got a new oil pump for mY lsvtec which was a vtec pump so i had to do the screw driver in the hole trick to get it TO tdc lol. but yeah i have the two litTLE marks lined up and the big marks at 12 0clock so i Am pretty sure it's not tat. but it is acting like a timINg issue . any input would be greAT at this point

did you get a gsr pump? im not sure but i was under the impression that you need a gsr belt if u use that pump.... im not sure just what i heard. anyone else? im interested

no i used a ls belt with ls water pump i never changed the crank Sprocket so it doesnt matter

it's depressing when you built soemthing and it doesnt work so right now it's trial and error , and the firing is way off when watching the spark but im sure the fring order is correct and all u smell is fuel when cranking

thats wierd cause i just finished my LSvtec a couple weeks ago and it drives fine. im telling you i had the same exact symptoms. i cant imagine why its misfiring so muh. rotate your distributer a little to see if u can fix the timing a little
