try local exhaust shops. I was surprised that when I actually looked into them, there were 3 in my area that did mandrel bends.

any muffler shop in ur area can help you out but then again like it was explained earlier in the thread "cheap and good quality " dont go hand in hand.....another thing though!....are you going to buy the pipe and bend it urself or buy it bent? cause if you need it done as a service all you need to do is write down measurements and lenghts on notebook paper and shop guys take care of the rest....but be carefull and ready to spend a gang of cash if you throw ur car on their lift...thats when they start charging hourly.... good luck

I'm sure burns can help you out. Also JCwhitney.com, roadraceeng.com, jegs, summit racing, and a couple of others have it too.

Prices run about the same for most places, with a couple being more expensive than the norm...

Most shops will rape you for individual, custom bends in something other than 45, 90 or 180's. Some will even require a minimum of 50 of EACH bend.

Maybe they should change the website: "Custom bending is available for quantities of 50 pieces or more."

Still yet, even at 25, it's clearly way more than the hobby fabricator needs. For example, if you have 4 runners off the head and are able to use 2 different bends, you're still stuck buying enough elbows to make a minimum of 12 headers.

I think that the reason big companies have these minimums is because of paperwork cost and tracking costs. It's not all that hard to make a custom bend, but the paperwork takes longer. However, the smaller companies usually don't have the capabilities to do a lot of stuff.

Does Burns put prices on the website? I can't find any prices on bent tube.

hey, does

Whos they?

Reason it says 50 and not 25 is so we dont get 45257245724 ridiculous inquries daily about custom bending.

It's not all that hard? Hvae you set up a mandrel bender? not being a dick but just really curious it's alot of setup time and know how.

check the site all our prices are there for our stock bends

WTF dude!! I watch Monster Garage!! I should be a Certified Tube bender by now!!

Even the cheaper JD2 machines aren't that difficult to setup. They have videos on their website.

speeking of shows .. i was watching rides on tlc and they whent to the magnaflow centert to get a exhaust system for the mustang . they first mocked it up using mandrel bends 90's 45's ext ext ..

then they put it on ther 3d mandrel bender .... they took the welded up mock up and put a fork (prob a sensor ) at the bends and what not . it came up on the machine in 3d .. then mandrel bent everything .. soooooooooo sick .. straight bolt on and all smooth...

how much one of thoes cost ? 20k~ or more i dunno ..
