Did ya replace the thermostat too? Did ya flush and fill the Rad fluid?

I replaced the thermostat today also, i filled it with fluid and let it bleed out or actually left the cap off so the bubbles would come up out of the radiator. I dont see how that would affect the fan not turning on though.

because if the thermostat doesn't open it wont let the water circulate around the fan switch and the fan wont switch on

well i replaced the thermostat, and i just went out and cracked that little nut thing and all that came out was fluid.....closed it up and still overheating. i cant get that damn fan to turn on for the life of me.....i pulled the relay out while the a/c was on and it cut the passanger side fan off, and when i put it back it came back on so im thinking the relay must be good......any other suggestions?

I really want to figure this out before I have to take it to a shop and get raped on the diagnostic.......the want $70 just to tell me whats wrong with it and it will probably only take them 5 minutes

next thing to do is to make sure there is power going to the fan switch, the easy way to do this to unplug the connecter from the switch and bridge the wires and if the fan comes on the you have power

the one I have is like two probe things, its a big cylinder then steps down to a smaller skinny one. I will take a pic tomorrow. Also I noticed when I turn the headlights on and drive the car likes to run hotter, like within 2 minutes the temp will jump up........earlier I had the lights on and the fans were running but the temp gauge was almost to the red.....wtf is up with that?

Well before the fans started working there was white smoke comming from the radiator.....I just drove the car around and let it sit and idle for about 5-10 minutes, went back out and the gauge was setting steady at half way. I put some more fluid in the rad. last night to top it off and drove it around this morning to get it circulated through the system to make sure its filled. I can turn the lights on sometimes and the gauge goes up, then when i turn them off it goes right back down.......not instantly but it does go back down...mabe i should just take it to a shop already

You have a blown head-gasket. Whenever there's any gases coming out of the radiator, you have a leak in your head. Trust me, replace that and you'll never overheat again until something else breaks . Also, if your fan doesn't work spend a few bucks to get a slim electric fan, it's worth your bucks to keep your car reliable. Good luck!
