Throttlebody upgrade
I did a search and didnt get my answer....
I am currently running an ITR TB on my GSR (See mods below) and wanted to know if it would be worth while to get the TB bored out fo 68/64 or something along those lines. The plans next month is to upgrade the valtrain, and cams (BC3+) hoping they will all compliment each other.
curious,

is it worth getting the Throttle body done even if I dont do the cam upgrade? would the ITR cams still improve with this upgrade?
any help appreciated.

get ur ITR tb bore to 64 or 66 depends on ur spec...might as well go for 66mm since you going for cams spec on ur gsr anyway. Yeah, get ITR done will improve ur ITR cams inside GSR. However, you will expect to lose low end tq's with 66mm tb untuned.

A bored throttlebody should help out the setup you have now and will surely be helpful when you upgrade your cams/valvetrain. I use a gsr TB bored out to 65mm and really like it. It was also not very expensive to do.
Unless the manifold is port matched to the throttle body then there will be minimal airflow gains in the setup. Consider going to a different manifold first.

The Skunk 2 manifold has a 65mm inlet I believe, and that would match up with an overbore TB perfectly. It is also very easy to enlarge the inlet of any stock intake manifold to 65mm.

Excellent work

Pix of before and after when i had my throttle body serviced by jorge@maxbore
You can see how nasty it was when i sent it to him and how clean it cam back and the difference in bore.
Mine is a OBD-1 GSR throttle body and it was 60-MM stock and now it's
67-MM (front) tapered to 64-MM (rear)
It's bang for the buck i must say and for $100-shipped u can't loose.
Also got some good input from Javier@JG Engine Dynamics and Steve@OMNI-POWER and both agreed that 64-MM to 65-MM throttle bodies can support up to 230-WHP
Well hope this helps a bit.
