Default Question On Transmission

On my 97' Civic EX the transmission is fixing to go. I have to hold it in 3rd gear and it constantly pops out of 2nd not to mention it grinds every gear and won't go into 2nd at high rpms...

I am getting a new transmission and one of the guys that works at the garage said I might want to look into getting some performance synchronizers... I looked all over the place but couldn't find anything like that. Any ideas?

Also I am not too familiar with transmissions but how bad would something like this effect performance... Thanks for the help.

i wouldnt invest in performance synchro's. unless ur running a straight drag car. D series trannies are fairly cheap. 200 and under. id just get a EX tranny and be done with it.
