header questions??
I have a Gsr engine in a 98 ferio and I want to put a header on it. I bought the DC 4-1 header (not jdm). The header is for a Type R but it should fit better because it is longer (from what i hear). I have the part number for the header gasekt that connects to the head but I am not sure about the part number for the cat to header gasket?? Do I even need that gasket if i don't have a cat??
Also...will this be a pretty straight forward install since I don't have a cat or is it going to be a pain in the ***?? is there anything else i should purchase for the install?? will i need to have a muffler shop make an extension??
thanks in adavance for your help.

i thought there was a gasket where the header attaches to the catalytic converter?? is that only for the 2.5" collector??
would you recommend that i get a cat or is it alright the way it is now?? i never knew that it would be a problem but if it is I can get one.
thanks.

in ca you wont pass smog without cat. and the header should just have a rounded edge on it where it meets the cat. there is a gasket at the rear of the cat

there is a "donut flange" you use for where the header meets the cat.

i know i wont pass smog but is there a benefit to not having one as compared to having a carsound?? so there is no gasket to install on the bottom?? is it only the jdm header that has a gasket down there??
