Would this work? I have keyless entry on my lx, but I have a chance to get a cd player out of a 01 ls teggy ? getting an aftermarket radio eliminates the keyless entry, unless u keep the old radio wired somewhere in the car.

they sell these things called umm a harness 3 actually for the ek keyless entry setup. like $30 for them easy to install then any radio youwant can be put in. dont know if the teg radio will fit

looked at crutchfield and they are saying that I have to keep the radio. let me look at bb

 

yes the stock unit has to be kept but they sell harnesses to allow you to change head units here is my setup


and the harnes setup 1)goes to stock harness 2) to stock head unit 3) aftermarket unit

ah im a DYI so I'll be the one doing it prolly with a lil hlep form my dad. I have done a cd player install on my hatchback, but they was plain and simple since no power options.

 

well on #2 the only wires used are the red (power), black (ground), and the yellow (constant)

 

With that harness setup, can the stock radio still be lit up when you turn on the lights?

 

yes the way i got mine setup (pic above) it does light up, clock works, and can be turned on but speakers are not hooked up to it and if you hook up the illumination wire it will dim out like stock
