Line bore is the way to go. Are these replacement caps brand new? or used from another head.

remember the caps are bearings persay... and each head's caps have been line bored from the factory to assure their clearances are perfect... If you use caps from a different head, it is likely that the clearances wont be the same. get it? you will need to have the new caps line bored at a machine shop to make sure.

you can not buy new caps from honda either unfortunately.

Proper line boring usually cost about $300+ dollars. Not sure if you want to spend that kind of money.

You can use caps from other heads...

They aren't like bearings...if that was the case, you couldn't use 'any' B-series cam and have them completely interchangable.

Just do this:

Put the new cam caps on with the cams you plan on using.

Lube the Journals

Torque to spec...

Turn the Cams with a Wrench...

If they don't physically bind, you should be alright.

I've done this on numerous occasions and never had a problem.

Cams should be able to turn by hand if the rockers are not installed.

What you said works though but you should be very careful about any slight bind. That needs to be corrected with sand paper.
