ADVICE on b18c1 swap into EG
any precautions i should know about?? wiring tips? n finally if yu know of any site selling a jdm b18c1 full swap under 2700, under 35,000 miles please let me know.
thnx.
thnx.
my advice is to do a search first. And when you have specific questions to be answered, post them. And don't forget to iterate your specific setup.
The only real trouble i had is that i couldn't get the iab/butterflies to work. I followed advice on this forum and i think i actually blew the ecu circuit. I still don't know what went wrong.

your car is obd 1 so get an obd 1 motor...u can get a an obd 2 motor i believe those are 96 and up...but your going to need to get a jumper harness...which means u need to convert your car into obd 2...but my advice is to get the obd 1 motor..wont really have to do so much work..and then just wire up v-tec which there are alot of threads on that...just do a search and you'll find wat your looking for
i am a first time buyer... so are you telling me that i can tell the seller specifically that i want a 94 motor? b/c it is my first choice.

You'll have to wire the VTEC and Knock sensor. Make sure you get good mounts, if you plan on upgrading the engine this is the time.

Call the website and specify what you need... http://www.hmotorsonline.com and http://www.passwordjdm.com are highly acclaimed by people on this sight, I've personally seen passwordJDM's products and they seem top notch as well as their customer service. Price wise, you might pay more than 2700 but not much, I believe you can get one with an LSD tranny for around 3100.

VX and Si chassis have the wires ran for VTEC already, you still need to run the knock sensor wires though.

it doesnt matter what obd-motor you get. a obdII will be the exact same swap..
you will need to use the obd2 engine harness (which will most likely come with the swap), your stock civic chassis harness(all the pnp, cept 1 or 2 plugs that you leave off on the engine side), and a obdI ecu.
the secondaries are wired a lil differently, but other then that its very straight foward. i would get a obdII motor, just cause it SHOULD have had less time on the road.
there is no need to convert your car to obd2, unless you live in cali.
i word of caution tho.. obd1 p72s are pretty hard to come by.. ask the seller for a obd1 ecu. have fun!

very true and the cali part...but if he gets a JDM motor he needs to get a USDM harness..the plugs are on the wrong side...you can always just get a usdm motor...good luck with the swap and have fun...make sure to double check everything

well i live in chicago so we have emissions every 3 years, buh im not exactly the greatest electrician, so im kind of scared of the obd2. if i were to get an obd2 i might as well get the type R motor?? everyone feel free to give me any type of remarks, im 17 so im juss trying to gather as much info as possible, and any advice all of you will give me
well if u have the money then get the R...but that like 4300 already...i would get the gsr and build...but thats my opinion...and i would just get obd1
