Torque Freaks - Groundzero Motorsports - C-speed Racing
So i am still trying to make the right call on this one, I live near Seattle and need a really good tuner, (not Like Carb Conn) to tune my Hondata for Boost.
I have heard Good things about Torque Freaks - Groundzero Motorsports and C-speed Racing.
C-speed Racing is closer but i can't seem to get in touch with anyone up there, The Emails come back undelivered and I can't seem to find a phone #.
I have read that Torque Freaks is good, but don't have that much backing on it.
Groundzero Motor sports has had great reviews but someone wrote they have heard mixed reviews.
I can't afford to make the same mistake i did when i went to Carb Connection and let them light a fuse under my block just so they could blame me, (bitches)
Any info would be great Thanks

GroundZero's dyno is down for awhile. Otherwise i would love to. Good luck with the tune
just to give you a heads up we would usually charge 300-500 for a full dyno tune so make sure you shop around

I would say Torquefreaks but I am not sure how much they work with hondata (AEM seems to be their main focus). E-mail Sean or whoever and ask. They are a hondata dealer though so I am probably not giving them enough credit
It just seems like that shop is synonymous with AEM.
Since you are actually in Seattle what about Dyno Authority?

i've never heard of Dyno Authority.
Has anybody had a hondata tune from Crescent up at C-speed, what did you think.

Hey, friend of mine sent me the link here. I've tuned many many vehicles on all sorts of engine management systems and have been racing for years. Sorry our email wasn't working for you, but give me a shout and we can chat about tuning your car via email or phone.

I give Cresent huge credit for helping my turbo hatch. I live outta state from him and he solved almost all of my problems over the phone and helped me alot with my set up. He definetly went out of his way when he wasnt responsible for anything in my car.. (Y)

I would go to TorqueFreaks as well... Their shop is clean, professional, and they have decent prices...

I know them all and to be honest you can't go wrong with Crescent. I would recommend him over anyone else locally. If you were in Portland then I would recommend Ground Zero over Torquefreaks for hondata tuning.
If you had AEM EMS, then Torquefreaks it is.

I would wait for groundzero I have seen some numbers on those guys it looks like they can do some crazy things on a dyno pull out big numbers.. That is just my two cents. Not discrediting any of the other dynos though. I am sure they are all pretty good. I have been to dyno authority though. as long as the guys from fame automotive arent tuning it your cool. Those guys are *** holes. They were in there messing around with my eclipse one day when I wasnt around and they were doing top speed pulls. They had the car doing 160 sitting on the dyno just for fun. **** heads. Then when I was driving home my wastegate came off because when they were raping my car the o2 sensor went out so they took the gate off to change it and didnt tighten the thing up tight enough so it wiggled the bolts loose and fell off on the freeway
I have had really good experiences with TorqueFreaks! As for GZ, PM "5thgencivic" on this board and ask his experiences. TorqueFreaks shop is also top notch!
Numbers is 1 thing, but how they tune the system is another. Crescent has more experience with hondata than both companies combined. I didn't know GZ's dyno was down, that bites. Crescent was the first dealer and tuner here in the NW that offered Hondata.
Torqurfreaks is a nice facility, but they tune pretty damn coservatively. Sean who is the owner doesn't even tune systems anymore. One of his techs tunes hondata, and he just got the system probably 6-7 months ago if I remember right.
Ground Zero knows how to make power because they know how to tune to the point to make peak power, but at the same time keeping everything safe. Also they have Ralph who has years of experience on more complex stand alones. It's just too bad that their dyno is down.

I still wound choose Torque Fraks. I had my GSR hatch worked on by groundzero and they couldn't fix it. They said the problem was I had a chipped ECU thats why the car would idel low then high, then low and high. It would flutter about 1200 RPMs up anddown. I got the car home and a friend took a look at it was vacumn leak from the manifold not being completely boltd on the under side. It bothered me I had to pay them and got nothing done. Torque Freaks have a couple Supras well into the 1000-1200 range, not to conservative to me.
Yah, but were talking hondata here, and the tuner at Torquefreaks who tunes the AEM EMS has way more experience than the person they have tuning their hondata systems. Tuning hondata isn't rocket science, that is probably why they have someone else do it.
As for 1000's supra's. Ralph at GZ has tuned cars like that as well. Sean is a great tuner, but he isn't tuning much these days and doesn't touch hondata.

Ralph's Supra and RX-7 are one of a kind cars. I give them mad props on those cars. I guess I just like the guys at Torque Freaks more of a overall shop level.
GZ treated me awesome. The guys there are great. As far as conservative tunes making power, my setup is proof. 11.5 A/F's 18 degrees of timing and mid 600whp....I plan on heading back to tune a little more in a month or so
On another note...if I didn't have loyalty or the friendship I have with the guys at GZ I would definatelly go to Crecent. He has been in the game a long time and is near my area so travel isn't an issue.
