high compression causing starter issues
alright now that ive got my ls vtec setup complete and my compression is around 11.1-11.3 my starter has a hard time turning the engine over has anyone else ever had this problem??? if so how did you resolve it?
i have never had a prob, but maybe your starter is worn. JCwhitney sells starters for high compression motors but they are like $400. i would just source another stock one and try that.

my full race motors fire up with a OEM starter no problems.. i doubt its your starter.. check all your connection make sure you are getting clean voltage to the starter
who built your motor?
a friend had the same issue, and had horribly tight bearing clearences (engine failed within 25 miles)
i had a 13.9:1 motor and never had issues getting it to turn over with a oldskool 1st gen JDm starter (came with an engine swap from a 1990 CRX SIR)
see how easy it is to turn that motor over by hand

your scaring me with the tight bearing clearences but i dont think that would be it the guy who built it said that he used plastigauge to make shure it was right but ill check all that other stuff
i was told that all manuel b series starters will work is that true if so im thinking ill try a b16 starter since it was built for a higher compression

Yes, you can use the b16 starter.
Did you try to spin the motor over by hand?
Check your grounds to the engine and the + lead to the starter.
