Fastbrakes installation
Got my 11.75" kit the other day and its raining tonight so im installing it. got the caliper off FINALLY and now i need to get the rotor off. The two screws holding the rotor to the hub are giving me major problems. The directions say to use a impact driver to loosen, which i have no idea what it looks like or does. Anyone have any ideas on how to bypass using the driver? Just unscrewing it doesnt work, itll strip the screw.
Get a #3 screwdriver and use a prybar in the wheel studs and brace the wheel
against the ground so that the hub cannot move.
I recommend you use a #3 philips screwdriver that goes on a ratchet.
Its easier to apply forward pressure as well as turning pressure at the same
time with less chance of stripping.

I don't know of any real alternative to the impact driver, since the screws are sometimes still a little tough to remove even with the driver. You should be able to find one pretty easily at a hardware or tool store. Basically, it is a driver that you strike with a hammer, and the mechanism inside twists the screw as you strike it.
Buy an impact driver from any auto parts store.. They are like 5 bucks and save
you lots of grief!
You put on the screwdriver bit, and whack the **** out of it with a hammer and it will come loose without stripping the set screw..

if you happen to have a hammer with a round stricking head, place that onto the screw, then whack that hammer with another hammer. That will lossen the screw a tad bit if it's seized up and will also narrow the openings in the screw for the phillips bit. Then, take the a #3 phillips as sgt said, but you can also whack that screwdriver in too with a hammer to get a better seat in the screw, Now turn slowly while pressing into the hub with the screwdriver. That will work if you don't have an impact driver or ratchet. good luck and take your time. It sucks to drill out a stripped screw or bolt.

my fastbrakes 2 piece 11" rotor didnt even have holes for the screws, so I had to remove them anyways.
I have wasted too much of my life in the past working on my car and friends cars trying to remove these screws nicely, now I just get out the drill and my favorite Carbide drill bit... and whammo problem solved in one minute.
i have to agree, i first got an impact driver and after whacking the **** outta my car without the screws loosening, i went straight for the drill and blasted those bitches outta there. i think i used a 1/8" bit.
appreciate the advice guys, will be trying this all out tomorrow and if successful im gonna take another stab at passing emissions for the third time.woohoo.
