Default How to know if LSD is working correctly.

I did some search on this subject everything else but the answer to my question came up,please help. I was driving on an icey road this morning when I found myself with one of the two front wheels on ice and when I tried to get going the wheel (on ice) was spinning and the other wasn't pushing the car forward in any way.almost like if all the power was on the wheel which was on the ice.I thought and was told by the mecanics who swapped in the h22 that both wheels would get power...if so why didn't the car move forward since my left wheel was on dry pavement.thanks everyone. I'm now starting to get thoughts that I dont really have an lsd.

set up a water box on a local street and have some friends monitor the wheels (1 person on each side) just a sugestion.

Lay heavy on the gas from a stop to see if you get torque steer.

If you can't tell if LSD is working or not just by driving the car and experimenting . . . .

not all h22 trannies have lsd.

if you got a jdm h22 swap and it has a m2b4 tranny then it has lsd.

if you cant tell from a launch then its either broke or you never had one.

Thanks for all suggestions. Initially I thought it might be broke because everytime I would hit the gas when driving on the snow it would pull slightly to the right just like if the power was in the right wheel.I had this swap done about 2 weeks ago so I'm still trying to find out what the real feeling of lsd is.Its a jdm h22a and the guys who did the install all told me the lsd was on it.....but it is working?? thats what I'm trying to figure out since I never drove an lsd.If I lauch it hard you're telling me that The wheels shouldn't burn as much as a rugular trans...is that right? Can someone tell me where to look when my hood is open to pin-point the exact spot where it should be written M2B4.thanks again everyone I just want to be sure that I got what I paid for since the mecanics gave me a 3 month waurantee if its not working I'll go see them again.thanks again.

Due a nice burn out, get out of your car and see if you have two tire marks or just one. It's the easiest way to check.

If you want to go through the trouble you can pull your axles off and try looking through the tranny if it looks like + you don't if you can see completly through it than you do and it's not working. But this is a lot of work.

Jack the front of the car up and rotate one of the front tires forward manually. The opposite tire should rotate backwards if you don't have a LSD. If you do have a LSD, the opposite tire should spin forward also.

Yeah, thats what I thought definantly a better method than doing a burn out

there should be a barcode on the tranny with the tranny code m2b4 unless you have an auto then it would be a mp1a.
