Default 6'th gen A/T

Ok I bought my 99 ex v6 coupe about a year ago. From a Honda dealer when I bought it it had 73,000 now it has 85,000 miles on the OD. Carfax says it was a lease. My question is when these 6'th gen auto tranys go out and if they were replaced do the repacement trannys have the same problem? How would I be able to find out if it was replaced? It is under warranty until 100,000 miles. I don't know if i want to pay for a new tranny for this car I think the money would be better spent buying a different car.

Some of the new trannys do have the problem. I just had my 2nd transmisison dump on me this weekend.

The dealership should have a record of it being replaced.

I have a warranty for 1 more year or 60,000 miles so it's ok, my tranny was replaced free. I want to sell the damned thing though.

well thanks thats what I wanted to know, So you're on tranny number 3 with less than 60,000 thats awful. Honda Owes its customers more than that. If i but another Honda it wont be an auto.

why wasn't the warranty extended for the 98-99 models. I don't need it but other people do?

it's math. There arent enough 'numbers' of problems to warrant honda bothering. Thats how companies work. They know there are problems but they only offer to fix them if there are enough complaints from either customers or the DOT or whatever regulates that.

Pretty much. Your car came with 200 hp. Use it. Drive normally, if you want to wear it out early go ahead, but it's not a guarantee that your tranny will fail...
