Default Raising compression ratio and Turbo??

If i am only goin to be boostin about 8psi. Then is it okay for me to upgrade my pistons to some 10.0:1??? I have a stock RS right now. I was just wondering cuz i dont really wanna boost higher than 8psi, but i wanna squeeze every ounce of power out of the engine.

with high occtane fuel (91, 92+) and maybe a J&S to be safe, you should be okay....but with lower CR, you can boost higher...

where are u gonna benifit from running higher compression?.. only on the bottem end, it will give u a little more torque and a quiker spool up.. top end would benifit more by lowering compression but at the same time adding more boost..

9.5:1 is a happy medium, youll get a lil more torque and quiker spool up but you will still be able to run plenty of boost for a street car..

you'll be fine, just tune it well. i am still running the stock usdm type R CR of 10.6:1 on my stock block at 8psi and it is lots of fun

JE does not make shelf pistons in 10.0:1, but you can have them custom made. They do have 9.8:1 GSR pistons on the shelf though.

I have JE 9.8:1 pistons for the GSR. I am thinking of ordering a set of these same pistons to drop into my LS. (I think I will net around 9.5:1 with them)
